Train the Trainer

Train the Trainer

Our train-the-trainer course is a professional development program that aims to equip delegates with the skills and knowledge to design and deliver effective training sessions for their own teams or organizations. Delegates will benefit from learning the best practices and principles of adult learning, how to assess the training needs and preferences of their audience, how to create engaging and interactive learning materials and activities, how to facilitate and manage group dynamics, how to evaluate the impact and outcomes of their training, and how to provide constructive feedback and support for their learners. This course will enhance delegates’ confidence and competence as trainers, while improving the quality and efficiency of their training programs.

Trainers, facilitators, lecturers as well as supervisors/managers who coach and up-skill their teams.

By equipping themselves with professional training and facilitation skills, adult educators will add value to the organisation, using well-planned and facilitated learning experiences. Effective learning interventions are fun, motivational and empowering. They enable learners to transfer their newly acquired knowledge and skills back into the workplace.

  • Identify training objectives and conduct training needs analysis
  • Understand adult learning principles and identify different learning styles
  • Understand how to facilitate learning
  • Make adequate preparation for a learning session by using a training plan

On the final day, candidates present a fully prepared training session, during which they receive constructive feedback from the facilitator and other group members.

Although the course is non-credit bearing, it has been designed to deliver the specific outcomes set out in SAQA US 117871, without being constrained by the theoretical emphasis that is sometimes required of an accredited course.

The intent is to equip learners with the practical skills and confidence required of them, to deliver facilitated training in their specific environment.
