People Development Africa opened their doors in April 1999 in Cape Town.

The sole entrepreneur – Thelma Bowers, decided to gain her company’s accreditation for various skills programs falling under the Occupationally Directed Education and Training certificate as there was a need in the market.

The home based business constantly grew and People Development Africa now has its head quarter in the city center of Cape Town, employs over 10 permanent staff members and manages training nationwide.

Our clients are from various backgrounds, such as government departments (City of Cape Town, Drakenstein Municipality, Tygerberg Hospital, SASSETA), corporate companies (Eskom, SA Navy) as well as individuals wanting to better their career.

People Development Africa also assist emerging training providers in gaining their accreditation and are currently assisting 10 clients in gaining their accreditation from their respective SETA’s.

People Development Africa was one of the first companies who started its action under the new outcome-based education system introduced in South Africa in 1999. Since then we work hard and add our part into developing skills in the country.

People Development Africa train people who share their knowledge at their work place or in their own businesses.

Developing educators is exactly what we mean in our motto: “A candle loses nothing by lightening another” (James Keller).

People Development Africa train trainers who then share their knowledge in the field with others.

People Development Africa equip trainers with all the skills they would need and which are required by law.
