Swift Micro Laboratories (Pty) Ltd was established and registered in October 1991 as the first private Microbiological Service Laboratory in South Africa utilising modern electrical techniques.

In April 2004, Swift Micro Laboratories acquired the HACCP section (formerly known as the Food Quality Management Section) of the CSIR.

This buy-out includes the existing CSIR training courses (GMP, SQA, HACCP and Basic Principles of Hygiene) as well as the services of their technical specialists in this field.
