B&A offers a holistic approach to clients – from a pre-training audit/needs analysis to an ongoing support service.

The training courses are mainly facilitated in house, with a couple of courses run as "open" or public workshops.

METHODOLOGY

B&A’s style of learning is unique in that tests and exercises are used to create conscious incompetence in learners.This facilitates a ‘buy-in’ when learners realise that they ‘do not know it all’.

The learning is very participative. Instead of being prescriptive, B&A facilitators expose learners to different ideas and concepts, encouraging them to think and come to their own conclusions.

Wherever possible courses are designed around a system which clients are encouraged to implement within their organisations.This enables everyone in the organisation to be ‘on the same page’ and facilitates the transfer of learning from the classroom to the workplace.

For example: the disciplinary training courses are designed around a progressive approach to discipline which emphasises correction and makes use of a formal referral system to identify and handle ‘troubled employees’.

A variety of training tools are used in the training courses including a training DVD, comprehensive training manual, self study guides, ready reference booklets and pre and post testing / questionnaires.

Various training techniques are also incorporated such as practical exercises, role plays and group discussions.

Where learners are to be assessed against unit standards, professionally produced Portfolio of Evidence packs are supplied.
