The University of South Africa (Unisa) has extended registrations for the 2024 academic year. The announcement applies to students wanting to confirm their registration in all levels of academic programmes at the country’s largest universities.
All Unisa registrations for the 2024 academic year have opened on 10 January 2024. This applies to students registering for semester or year models.
The registration closing date for honours degrees, postgraduate diplomas, and master's and doctoral qualifications has been extended.
Registration for undergraduate qualifications for the 2024 academic year are however closed and have now been extended.
Unisa continued to say, "The closing date for registrations for honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas has been extended to 31 March 2024. The closing date for registrations for master's and doctoral qualifications has been extended to 30 April 2024".

Prospective Unisa students can check online for the status of their application and complete the registration. They can log in to their Unisa account to confirm the details.
New applicants and Unisa students who applied for admission to a new qualification will be able to register during this period. Applicants may only register if they received an offer of placement from Unisa and have accepted this offer online.
Students who are re-registering must register for the 2024 academic year during the relevant registration period for their qualification.
All registered students will be provided with a free myLife email address. Students must activate their myLife email account as soon as their registration is finalised.
The myLife email will be the only email account recognised by Unisa for official correspondence to and from the university. It will also remain the official primary email address on record at Unisa.
