The 2022 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations results are set to be released on Friday, 20 January 2023. While many learners will be satisfied with the results they achieved during the crucial examinations, some may be required to rewrite their exams to obtain their NSC while others may want to improve their results.
The Second Chance Matric Programme (SCMP) allows individuals to rewrite their matric examinations while being provided with support from the Department of Basic Education (DBE).
This support comes in the form of face-to-face classes, Learning And Teaching Support Materials (LTSMs) as well as access to several multimedia resources which include online programmes, television and radio broadcasts.
Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga revealed that the LTSMs are government-owned, printed and distributed to learners at no cost to the learner.
Individuals can choose to register for one, two or more subjects, and write their examinations either in May/June 2023 NSC and Senior Certificate examinations or during the October/November 2023 examinations season.
Subjects That Learners Can Register For Include Accounting , Agricultural Science, Business Studies, Economics, English First Additional Language, Geography, History, Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy, Physical Sciences and Life Sciences.
Learners can register for the SCMP programme online, by visiting www.eservices.gov.za or visiting any Department of Basic Education office with an ID document and statement of results. Registration for the SCMP programme will close on 8 February 2023.
