The Unemployment Insurance fund has paid out more than R63 Billion worth of TERS claims to employers. 
The TERS benefits are distributed to ensure that people who lost their income during the Covid-19 lockdowns receive financial support. Some TERS applications have not been paid out due to incorrect information being provided to the UIF by employers.
Below is a list of all the Covid-19 TERS error messages related to ID and Passport numbers.

Incorrect ID format 
(Gibberish ID)

The ID number you provided is not valid and does not appear on the home affairs database

If the ID number is correct and has 13 digits you are advised to follow up with home affairs 
If the ID is incorrect you should ensure that you enter all the correct details 

Invalid ID

The ID has 13 digits but is not on the home affairs database

Ensure that the ID number you insert is correct and only claim for that one individual 

ID NO not found 

ID number is not 13 digits 

This means the ID you received may belong to a foreigner 

DUPLICATE ID 

The ID number was used already to apply for UIF TERS befits 

This could be an example of fraud. It is advised by the UIF that you report this immediately to the fraud division at the UIF
