As the Workplace Skills Plan directly affects the skills development pillar of the B-BBEE scorecard, it is a requirement for companies to submit this plan in order for points to be allocated under the skills development section, which is now a priority element in the Revised Code of Good Practice.
If done correctly it will make it easier to calculate training return on investment, remain compliant as per the Skills Development act and also realise the opportunity to claim relevant grants i.e. 20% of the skills development levies in mandatory funds and if granted, access to 49.5% of those levies.
