Free training offered to people with disabilities

South Africa commemorates National Disability Rights Awareness Month annually between 3 November and 3 December. 3 December is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, and is also commemorated as National Disability Rights Awareness Day. This year's theme is: "Persons with disabilities - Equal participants in shaping a sustainable future."

In line with the campaign, Afrika Tikkun Services is offering a three-week FREE 'Career Readiness' skills development and training programme for 50 potential applicants living in Johannesburg and is exclusively for people living with disabilities.

Afrika Tikkun Services invests a great deal of time and resources into training young people; providing them with technical and human capability skills with the intention of making them more competent for the workforce.

These programmes represent a significant investment in training provision for the workplace and offer accessible alternatives to formal post-secondary education for young people.

Afrika Tikkun's model which begins from infancy instils and provides a holistic education for many young children from impoverished and child-headed households, to prepare them for the transition to the world of work. These include instilling self-confidence, health care, career guidance, good citizenship and becoming financially savvy from an early age.
