Full marks for IT service student - at first attempt!

Mindy Mogudi scored an outstanding 100% exam score on her first attempt at the Foundation certificate in IT Service Management presented by Foster-Melliar.

"Mindy’s results are outstanding considering that this is her first formal exposure to the IT service management component of ITIL training. Usually students struggle at the outset as the concept is foreign and takes somewhat of a different approach to handling IT service, often requiring a change in mindset.

Foundation students usually have to work exceptionally hard just for a reasonable pass mark - achieving a 100% score is something to be exceptionally proud of,' explains Conn Wood, Executive Director at Foster-Melliar.

Asked about her study methods, Mindy, who works at a leading Management and IT Consulting firm says: "There wasn't too much juggling needed between work and the added pressure of exams because the length of the course was a manageable three days. The facilitator did however give homework which after a long day of intense learning certainly did require a good deal of dedication. Passing the exam first time round made it all worthwhile though and it truly was a fantastic experience".

"My advice to other students would be that there is definite merit in doing the homework component of the course as thoroughly as possible. For me, it provided an opportunity to review the material covered during the day at my own pace and test my understanding. In this way, I was able to build on the lessons as each day progressed - there was certainly a lot of material to cover in the course,' she says.

Asked about her future study plans: "The ITIL Manager’s Certificate in IT Service Management is next on the cards for me. My first experience of Foster-Melliar’s ITIL was really positive so I am really looking forward to my next challenge,' adds Mindy.
