How to get a job in SA

Government has compiled a career advice booklet to help young South Africans pursue their career goals and find employment.

There are many factors that need to be considered when deciding what to do with your life. Before selecting a career path you will need to ask yourself some crucial questions such as, what are my interests? Can I afford a higher education? Where can I get additional funding? Are there employment opportunities in my field of study?

This Khetha Apply Now! booklet covers everything from choosing a career to finding work once you have obtained the appropriate qualifications.

There are 25 elective subjects. Do you want to know which subjects you will need to enter a particular field of study? This booklet could help you determine your subject list.

The booklet also provides contact information for career counsellors, higher education institutions and other entities linked to the further education and employment sector.

It is particularly useful for local students as it provides details on the scarce skills needs in South Africa, as well as which industries offer the best opportunities for future employment.

If you don't have access to a guidance counsellor this booklet can help you work through one of the most important decisions you will make in your life.
