Mboweni disputes claims by the DA that the government missed the deadline to pay R500 million for the COVID-19 vaccine. According to Mboweni, the deadline is on the 15th of December and he believes that the Solidarity Fund is ready to make payment.

According to Mboweni, the deadline is on the 15th of December and he believes that the Solidarity Fund is ready to make payment.
During the debate on the adoption of the Medium Term Budget Policy Statement at parliament, Tito Mboweni, the Finance Minister, pointed out that the government did not miss the deadline to pay R500 million for the COVID-19 vaccine.
He belives that they have enough time before the 15th to make the payment and the Solidarity Fund is ready and able to pay R500 million for the vaccine. 
The mini budget has been passed by the house amid the opposition from other parties.
