Beneficiaries of the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) grants use their Gold Cards to access their monthly social grants and make transactions. However, many of these grant beneficiaries’ cards are set to expire in the coming months.
The South African Post Office (SAPO) anticipates that around 5 million social grant beneficiaries will be at their branches to collect new Sassa gold cards. The entity has revealed how it plans to deal with the administration of millions of new cards.
In a press release, grant beneficiaries whose Sassa gold cards are expiring in March 2023 were encouraged to visit Post Office branches to collect a new card.
