The wait is nearly over for matric learners, as Basic Education Minister, Angie Motshekga will be announcing the matric results today.
The Minister is expected to give an overview of the national performance of matric learners.
This includes the pass rate for all provinces as well as the national pass rate.
Learners are expected to receive their individual results on 23 February at midnight.
The Department of Basic Education said queries regarding the results can be submitted 30 days after the release of the results.
“Candidates must ensure that names and identity numbers reflect correctly on their statement of results and report any required corrections to the department before 30 June 2021."
Exam scripts can be remarked for a fee of R120 per subject and R290 for re-checking a subject.
“A candidate may apply at the prescribed fee for the re-mark/re-check of his/her examination scripts. Registration can be done at either the school or district office in the province (all instructions appear on the reverse side of the Statement of Results),
“Viewing of scripts may only be done after a re-mark or re-check of results. The closing date for applications is seven days after release of re-mark or re-check results. The fee for viewing is R234,” the department said.
The supplementary February/March examinations have been phased out and are therefore no longer available.
The new exam period is now May/June, with applications closing on 31 March 2021.
