The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (Nsfas) released the official funding list on Wednesday. However, some applicants will find that their applications have been unsuccessful.

The funding list allows students to view whether or not they have been approved for funding for the 2022 academic year. However, not all students will be approved for funding.

These unsuccessful candidates will have the opportunity to appeal their rejection status. Appeals can be made on the myNsfas student portal www.nsfas.org.za, starting on 3 February 2022

Nsfas said, ‘Students wishing to appeal must upload all required supporting documentation to substantiate the reasons for the appeal. Appeals should be submitted within 30 days of having been assessed as unsuccessful’.

More than 1.1 million students are expected to enrol at one of South Africa’s 26 public universities while more than 500 000 are expected to enrol in a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college.
