
President Cyril Ramaphosa will be addressing the nation tonight. The President is expected to speak about a way forward for the country, following the move to updated level 3 on 28 December.
During his address to the nation on 28 December, the President said the updated restrictions would be in effect until 14 January and up for review on 15 January.
Since then, the President has been in various meetings with the National Coronavirus Command Council (NCC).
The country has recently seen a spike in daily positive Covid-19 cases. The number of deaths recorded nationally has also increased since the last address.
The latest report shows an increase of 339 Covid-19 related deaths.

The total death toll now stands at 33 163.
The President will speak about developments the country has made with regards to Covid-19.
"This engagement focused on the unfolding pandemic in the country and on the continent, including efforts to secure vaccines for all. The President’s address will be broadcast and streamed on a range of platforms that are accessible to South Africans and international audiences." said the Presidency in a tweet.
