The Raymond Ackerman Academy of Entrepreneurial Development is the perfect place to start your journey into the business world.
The academy was established to develop youth who are innovative and have an interest in business and entrepreneurship.
The full time programme runs twice a year for six months.
During the course students will learn basic life and business skills. However the focus is on developing an entrepreneurial mind-set. This is said to be one of the essential ingredients of successful business owners.
The course, which is valued at approximately R25000 will be largely subsidised by Raymond Ackerman. But students will be required to pay a fee of R2500 towards the total cost.
Who is eligible?
The programme is designed for young people between the ages of 18 and 30. The aim is to offer training to students who have not been able to study at traditional educational institutions due to financial constraints. Applicants do not need to have their own business but an aptitude for business and entrepreneurship must be demonstrated.
How do I apply?
Students who wish to apply will need to complete 4 essays questions as part of the application which is submitted online. In the application students will be asked to discuss their background, interests, goals and motivations for pursuing a career in business.
How does the selection process work?
Once the applications are completed short-listed candidates will be called to join a workshop before being interviewed. 30 Students are chosen per course in Cape Town.
