On Sunday, it was announced by the National Department of Health that South Africa has surpassed one million COVID-19 cases.
Since the last report, the total number of COVID-19 cases now stands at 1 004 413, with 9 502 new cases reported.
29 494 new tests were conducted since the last report, which brings the total number of tests to 6 445 318.
Unfortunately, 214 people have died due to COVID-19, which takes the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 26 735.
123 of those deaths came from the Eastern Cape.
Recoveries are currently at 844 874, which represents a recovery rate of 84.1%.
