If you have not met the requirements of the National Senior Certificate (NSC) or the extended Senior Certificate you can join the second chance programme and improve your chances of success. The programme is funded and presented by the Department of Basic Education
Who is the programme for?
The aim of the programme is to offer support to students who will write their NSC supplementary exams in March and amended senior certificate in June. As well as NCS progressed learners and part-time NSC candidates.
Where can I get support?
This support is delivered through multiple mediums in order to meet the needs of the students. According to the department learners can obtain assistance through face-to-face classes, online and off-line programmes, television and radio broadcasts, multimedia platforms and Mzansi libraries.
How will this benefit me?
The programme will focus on helping learners meet the requirements of the NSC or SC in order to obtain a Grade 12 matric certificate. It aims to increase learner retention and promote computer skills. The programme also helps learners access post school opportunities by offering guidance about job vacancies, career pathing and bursaries for higher education.

- Agricultural Science
- Business Studies
- English FAL
- Mathematic Literacy
- Physical Sciences
- Life Science
