Setting rituals to simplify your life

Author:

Do you ever feel that your world is out-of-control and that you have lost all focus?

“Consider setting some simple rituals in your life,” says Rachel Johnson, owner of Palomino Training Solutions. “In their simplicity, they form the basis of our success.”

Rituals create order and simplicity in our life and a familiarity that we need when our life becomes chaotic and highly stressful. They allow us to save our energy when life is normal, so that we have enough energy when we need it most.

Once you set them, rituals save you time and energy because you won’t have to plan or think about them.

“Great examples can be setting time with family or friends, dinner-time, the gym and so on,” says Johnson. “What it means is setting a clear routine or time for all routine activities.”

The way to get rituals to work for you is to make sure you are setting them at times that work best for you and your biological clock. Your morning routines should be so good that when you walk out of your house, you feel ready to tackle any problems the world throws at you.

If you would like to learn more about managing your time, join us at our upcoming 2019 public courses. They will be held on 9 October, 11 November or 20 December in Cape Town, Pretoria and Durban and the cost is R2,295 ex vat per delegate. This one-day interactive course includes modules on: left brain / right brain; time management principles; setting goals; and much more.

This course is also available as an onsite option at your work premises throughout SA (contact us for the very competitive prices) and also as an online (e-learning) option.

“Our aim is for delegates to leave our workshops feeling inspired and motivated, with a wealth of knowledge and hands-on tools that they are able to implement immediately,” says Johnson.
