The University of South Africa (UNISA) has opened applications for the 2022 academic year’s undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The undergraduate programs provide qualifications such as higher certificates, advanced certificates, national diplomas, advanced diplomas and degrees.
The application period will be open from 11 August 2021 to 15 October 2021. All applications must be sent in during this time period in order to be considered for acceptance. Prospective students can apply for a maximum of two courses, ranked in the order of their preference.
Once you have finished your application, Unisa will consider it and provide you with feedback within six to eight weeks.

Students will have to complete Unisa’s First-Year Experience (FYE) MOOC (massive open online course) before they can accept Unisa's offer.
- If you are accepted, you’ll need to accept you offer here
- Once you have accepted the offer, you are officially a student of Unisa.
Unisa is an open distance e-learning (ODeL) university which allows them to cater to students all over South Africa with the aim of providing equitable access to higher education for all students. Unisa’s status as an ODeL puts emphasis on students to take ownership of their studies as learning will take place online. Although learning primarily takes place online, Unisa does provide support to its students through tutorial support, online tools and counseling.
