The GRID Training Method© Course is aligned to the following three Unit Standards:
US 10231 [NQF level 4 (8 credits)]
Plan a learning event
US 7384 [NQF level 4 (16 credits)]
Facilitate an adult learning event
US 117871 [NQD level 5 (10 credits)]
Facilitate learning using a variety of given methodologies
Total of 34 Credits
This material is being submitted to the ETDP SETA and is awaiting approval.
Learners who complete the course prior to approval will receive recognition of prior learning (RPL) once material approval has been granted.
History of the course
Len Stevens has 35 years? of experience as a Master Trainer.
He has trained over 11 000 men and women in programs centered around the theme of "Personal Growth'.
This has included training on topics such as - attitude control, positive motivation, goal setting, public speaking, stress management, confidence building, right brain creativity, interpersonal skills, assertiveness, communication skills and leadership.
He has also provided training on various Business Subjects - including management, salesmanship, executive development, customer relations and presentation skills.
Len also custom-designs training workshops and seminars for businesses and organisations to meet the specific needs that they would like to address.
The GRID Training Method© Course is described by Len as the "distilled essence' of all his skills and experience as a Master Trainer over the years.
This powerful program takes a group of between 15 and 25 men and women, of all backgrounds, ages and education, with no previous experience necessary, and equips them with the attitudes, knowledge and skills which will enable them to "Teach And Train Others'.
The GRID Training Method© Course enables the graduates of this course to become confident in their ability to contribute greatly to the instruction and upliftment of their communities, their organisations or their businesses.
Learning outcomes of the course
After completion of this course the learners will be able to:
? Plan and prepare for a learning event
? Select and organise resources to facilitate a learning event
? Communicate effectively with adult learners
? Mediate knowledge and skills to a group of learners
? Manage the interpersonal dynamics of a learning group
? Reflect on the learning experience and evaluate their own facilitation skills
The assessment process
In order to successfully complete the course the following is required of learners:
? Present a learning event to peers during the 5 day course
? Present a learning event in the community or workplace and complete a user friendly Portfolio of Evidence which details specific outcomes and assessment criteria of the Unit Standards described.
? Evaluate their own learning in a summative assessment report.
