Unisa has announced that it has begun paying NSFAS allowances to students at the University. This comes after weeks of waiting for students.
The university said:
Please note that Unisa NSFAS students have started to receive their allowances today and we hope that all allowances will be paid by early next week.
Unisa has advised students who have not received their allowances by Thursday 5 May 2022 to contact the Division: Student funding at [email protected]
Last week, the university explained that the process of paying allowances to students will begin once the online platform for capturing banking details is running.
Unisa called on students to ensure they have active bank accounts and ensure that their contact details are captured correctly on myUnisa. Students must also activate their myLife email. Failure to do this could prevent your allowance from being processed.
A Nsfas bursary pays a deserving student's tuition in full. The bursary also provides students with money for textbooks, accommodation costs, food, transport, learning materials and registration fees.
