Unisa will no longer be issuing certificates to students. The university announced this on Thursday afternoon.

Before this new change to the issuing of certificates, students would receive an SMS from Unisa informing them that their certificate is ready for collection.

However, with the recent move to lockdown level 3, the university made the decision to change its existing system.

"Due to the Alert Level 3 regulations announced by the President on 15 June 2021, the issuing of certificates to students at Unisa offices is suspended until further notice."

Unisa has not given more details since posting this on their official Twitter account.

It remains unknown whether this will continue going forward or if this decision will be changed when the country moves to a new lockdown level.

If you're interested in applying to study at Unisa in 2022, you can apply when applications open.
