What if my child forgets to wear a mask to school?

During his national address on the 12th of July, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced a variety of changes to COVID-19 State of Disaster & Lockdown Regulations - one of which was the matter surrounding the use of a protective face mask while in a public space.

This was discussed and a new set of rules was put in place effective immediately.

Answer:

Should a learner arrive at school or early childhood development centre without some form of face covering, the learner may either be provided with an appropriate item that covers the nose and mouth or if the school or early childhood development centre cannot do so, the learner must be isolated and his or her parent, guardian or caregiver must be contacted to either deliver a facemask for the learner or arrange for the safe transportation for the learner to their home.
