Towards the end of April 2022, all recipients of the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) R350 grant were told to reapply. Sassa reported that it received more than 8 million applications for the grant.

These applications were submitted on the Sassa SRD Website https://srd.sassa.gov.za. Grant applicants can also use the website to submit appeals for unsuccessful grant applications, checking their grant application status and choosing their payment option.

Sassa has announced that grant applicants will not be able to use the website as it will be undergoing system maintenance.

Sassa said, “Please be informed that ICT will be running a series of Systems and infrastructure maintenance, this will be a process done over four weekends”.

The first weekend has passed. There are just three weekends scheduled for maintenance.

Here’s When The Sassa Website Will Be Down

27 May to 29 May (17:00 Friday to 23:00 Sunday)

10 June to 12 June (17:00 Friday to 23:00 Sunday)

24 June to 26 June (17:00 Friday to 23:00 Sunday)

Sassa added, “Beneficiaries should please note that during these times, the SRD Website will not be available. We apologise for the inconveniences this might cause”.
