Will I need a permit to go to the shop?

The question of whether members of the public will need to apply for a permit to buy their essential goods has been doing its rounds since the president first announced the national lockdown.

No, members of the public do not need to fill out a form or apply for a permit when leaving their properties, but there are certain limitations of movement in place.

However, those who supply essential goods or perform essential services do need to present a written permit (supplied by their employer) in the event that they are confronted by authorities.

Tip: Shoppers are advised to keep till slips as 'proof' since it displays the date and time of purchase.
