Learning during lockdown has been a challenge for many families over the past few months, and for assisted learning students, who require additional attention and support, the burdens on them have been substantial and not often acknowledged.

Reflecting on the opening of the 2008 school year Eduation DG Duncan Hindle is pleased to report that no child is learning under a tree, and no class is without a teacher. However there are still 9 000 schools that are under-performing and they will be a priority for the Education Department.
