Many students around the country who want to complete or improve their Matric results have just two weeks to register for the 2022 October/November National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations.


It is estimated that only a third of adults in South Africa have completed Grade 12. 


Individuals who want to obtain their Senior Certificate (SC) will still have an opportunity to register for the May/June examination season after the Department of Basic Education announced an extension to the registration date. 


Not achieving the results you wanted during the November 2021 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations is not the end of the world. 


Matriculants who want to register for the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations in May/June have less than a week to apply as the application date approaches.


Many learners who were not satisfied with their matric results, may want to improve their results. However, not all of these learners will qualify for the upcoming supplementary examinations. 


Hundreds of thousands of matriculants received their results last week.  However some will want to improve their results during the May/June supplementary examination season.

In just a few weeks, the Grade 12  Matric Class of 2021 will receive their examination results. Here are the steps taken by the education department before the results can be released to the learners.


Grade 12 students around South Africa will begin their matric exams earlier than expected. This was after select exams were moved to accommodate the upcoming 2021 local government elections.


Last month it was announced that the local government elections will be held on 1 November 2021. This has forced the Department of Basic Education (DBE) to move exams original scheduled to be written on 1 and 2 November 2021.


The Department of Basic Education has revealed the 2021 Grade 12 final exam timetable. The examination will start on 1 November and end on December 7 2021.
