This Skills Programme will enable learners to present and participate effectively in oral communication in various contexts.

Design and Develop Assessments

This course is aimed at people who wish to design and develop assessments to facilitate consistent, credible, reliable, fair, and unbiased assessments of learning outcomes. The outcomes may be defined in a range of documents including but not limited to unit standards, exit level outcomes, assessment standards, curriculum statements and qualifications.

Mentoring Course

This Skills Programme will be useful to those who provide a basic level of support and assistance to learners about their learning and assessment needs. Attendees will be able to provide basic support and assistance to learners in terms of issues such as:

Learning programme content, structure, admission requirements, exit level outcomes, learning contracts, approaches to learning and assessment;
Career progression options within the occupation; and
Typical learning or personal difficulties experienced by learners.

CAREER CONSTRUCTION: A SYSTEMS APPROACH TO CAREER GUIDANCE

OVERVIEW:

Day 1: This workshop aims to: a) familiarise workshop participants with the theoretical background on which the MSCI (Adolescent and Adult versions) is based; b) introduce a systemic thinking and qualitative career assessment; c) overview the process of conducting the MSCI; d) provide examples from our experience of using the MSCI; and e) familiarise participants with the MSCI instrument and its use.

CAREER COUNSELLING

OVERVIEW:
This workshop will take a closer look at career counselling in detail. Many career theories will be discussed, which help define career counselling. The importance of career counselling will be discussed focusing on aspects like preparing learners for life after school and how to guide learners to make the correct subject choices. Trends in the workplace and the dynamic world of work will be explored. Topics such as developing a personal brand, entrepreneurship and how to adjust to the working world will be discussed.

First Aid level 1 (2 days)

First Aid Level 1 Training is for persons required to assess the emergency situation and providing basic Life Support and basic First Aid in order to stabilise patients prior to the arrival of Emergency Services.

People that have undergone First Aid Level 1 Training will be able to: demonstrate an understanding of emergency scene management, demonstrate an understanding of elementary anatomy and physiology, assess an emergency situation, apply First Aid procedures to a life-threatening situation and treat common injuries.
