Welcome to Unit Standard 115753: Conduct outcomes-based assessment.

This programme has been designed to enable you to reach the following outcomes:

The programme is intended for candidates who have no previous assessment experience.

The outcomes may be defined in a range of documents including but not limited to unit standards, exit level outcomes, assessment standards, curriculum statements and qualifications.

Mentoring Course

This Skills Programme will be useful to those who provide a basic level of support and assistance to learners about their learning and assessment needs. Attendees will be able to provide basic support and assistance to learners in terms of issues such as:

Learning programme content, structure, admission requirements, exit level outcomes, learning contracts, approaches to learning and assessment;
Career progression options within the occupation; and
Typical learning or personal difficulties experienced by learners.

Design & Develop Learning Material

This course is aimed at people who wish to design and develop assessments to facilitate consistent, credible, reliable, fair, and unbiased assessments of learning outcomes. The outcomes may be defined in a range of documents including but not limited to unit standards, exit level outcomes, assessment standards, curriculum statements and qualifications.

Microsoft Visio

By the end of the two days of interactive, hands on training, delegates will understand the potential and scope of Visio in comparison to other graphics packages. Participants will have created flow charts, organization charts, maps, layouts of offices etc. Trainees will be proficient at creating, sharing and printing diagrams to be used in the business environment.

Basic Fire Fighting

Basic Fire Fighting is about bringing fires under control and putting the fires out. Basic Fire Fighting will teach you the necessary skills to quickly and correctly identify the type of fire so that you can select the appropriate fire fighting procedure. Prevention is always better than cure. This means that we’ll teach you how to identify fire risks at the workplace. This will help you minimise the possibility of accidental fire.

Culture Guide

A Culture Guide is a person that conducts extensive tours with an emphasis on cultural wealth, both to enlighten and entertain visitors. These guides are very well informed about the history of the different sites that are scattered throughout the provinces of South Africa and have a good overview of the diverse cultural elements of our country. A Culture Guide can operate in one province or qualify to work as a competent guide in numerous provinces or apply themselves to qualify as a National Guide.

First Aid level 1 (Refresher)

First Aid Level 1 Training is for persons required to assess the emergency situation and providing basic Life Support and basic First Aid in order to stabilise patients prior to the arrival of Emergency Services.

People that have undergone First Aid Level 1 Training will be able to: demonstrate an understanding of emergency scene management, demonstrate an understanding of elementary anatomy and physiology, assess an emergency situation, apply First Aid procedures to a life-threatening situation and treat common injuries.

Nature Guide

A Nature Guide is a person that interprets the natural wealth of a site or province to a group of international or local visitors and educates and informs them of the different aspects of that particular area.

South Africa has a very diverse natural heritage that offers countless tourism destinations where people can experience a variety of tourism attractions from the Fynbos in the Western Cape to the majestic Baobab in the Limpopo, from the wonders of the wetlands at St. Lucia to the striking Gemsbok of the Kalahari.

This skills programme is aimed at personnel who work in a warehouse and who are responsible for the activities typical in a warehouse such as receiving and dispatch of stock, counting stock, handling and storing stock.

The skills programme consists of 3 unit standards which can also be conducted as individual training courses.
