The Department of Basic Education (DBE) is urging all eligible youth to apply before the deadline for Phase 5 of the Basic Education Employment Initiative (BEEI).
This phase of the initiative aims to create over 200,000 job opportunities. Previous phases have already resulted in more than one million placements.
How to Apply for Teaching Assistant Jobs
All applications must be submitted via SAYouth.mobi - the official and only platform used for recruitment by the DBE.
SAYouth.mobi is a free, zero-rated platform that does not require mobile data. The DBE advises applicants to register or update their login details to avoid delays.
Beware of fraudulent job ads. Only use SAYouth.mobi to apply. Scammers have previously used the PYEI name to collect personal information.
Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend of R4,000 for six months, along with R30 for data. A Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) is required during the recruitment process.
The initiative is funded by the National Treasury and the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), with UIF funds managed by the Industrial Development Corporation.
