The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has released the grant payment dates for March 2025, providing crucial information for millions of beneficiaries.
Sassa distributes over 18 million permanent grant payments, including the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top-Up and Grant-in-aid. This is in addition to the approximately 8 million individuals who receive the temporary Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant.
March 2025 Sassa Grant Payment Schedule Released
The confirmed Sassa grant payment dates for March 2025 are as follows:
- Older Persons grant: 4 March 2025
- Disability grant: 5 March 2025
- Children's grants: 6 March 2025
Grant Increase Details Pending Budget Speech
Traditionally, the Finance Minister announces Sassa grant increases during the Budget Speech, with adjustments typically implemented on 1 April and 1 October.
However, the 2025 Budget Speech has been postponed, delaying the announcement of 2025 Sassa grant increases. Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana is expected to reveal the new grant payment amounts on 12 March 2025, the rescheduled date of the 2025 budget presentation.
March 2025 Sassa SRD Grant Payment Schedule
Sassa has announced the SRD grant payment dates for March 2025, providing beneficiaries with clarity on when they can expect their payments.
According to Sassa, approved SRD grant recipients will receive their payments between 26 March and 28 March 2025.
Beneficiaries are advised to complete an SRD Grant Status Check to confirm their approval for the March 2025 payment. This status check will also indicate the exact date the funds will be deposited into their bank accounts.
