Social grants ensure millions of South Africans can access basic goods and services monthly. The payment dates and payment values have been confirmed by Sassa.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has confirmed the official grant payment schedule for June 2025, providing clarity for millions of South Africans reliant on social support.

June 2025 Sassa Grant Payment Dates

  • Older Persons Grant: 3 June 2025
  • Disability Grant: 4 June 2025
  • Children’s Grants: 5 June 2025

Sassa distributes over 18 million permanent social grants each month, including the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top-Up and the Grant-in-aid.

In addition to permanent grants, Sassa also provides the temporary Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant to approximately 8 million individuals.

Confirmed Sassa Grant Amounts

As confirmed by Sassa, current monthly grant values are as follows:

  • Old Age Grant – R2,315
  • War Veterans Grant – R2,335
  • Disability Grant – R2,315
  • Foster Care Grant – R1,250
  • Care Dependency Grant – R2,315
  • Child Support Grant – R560
  • Grant-in-Aid – R560

Grant Increases Reaffirmed

The grant amounts for June remain in line with the increases announced by Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana in March 2025. These figures were reaffirmed this week during the third budget speech of the year.

SRD Grant Payment Dates for May 2025

Payment dates for the SRD grant have been set between 23 May and 28 May 2025. Beneficiaries are advised to check their status on the SRD website to confirm the exact date funds will reflect in their bank accounts.
