Millions of people are set to receive social grant payments from the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) in November 2024. Sassa has confirmed when social grant beneficiaries will receive their Sassa grant payments.
Grants distributed by Sassa include the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top-Up and Grant-in-aid. Sassa is also responsible for the social relief of distress grant, which we know as the SRD grant or R370 Sassa grant.
Sassa Grant Payment Dates For November 2024
Sassa usually pays permanent social grants in the first week of the month, starting on the second working day of the month. It’s important to remember that Sassa grant payments don't take place on weekends and public holidays.
In November 2024, the second day of the month falls on the weekend resulting in a delay in social grant payments. Sassa grant payments for November will therefore commence on 5 November.
Sassa confirmed the following grant payment schedule for November 2024:
- Older Persons Grant - 5 November 2024
- Disability Grants - 6 November 2024
- Children's Grants - 7 November 2024
There’s no need to rush to withdraw cash on the first payment day. Once the funds are in your account, they will remain available until needed.
How Much Sassa Grant Payments For November Will Be
Older Persons grants will be R2,190 while Older Persons grants for people 75 years and older will be R2,210.
Disability grants will be R2,190, War Veterans grant will be R2,210, Care Dependency grant will be R2,190 and the Foster Care grant will be R1,180.
The child support grant will be R530 with the child support grant top up being R250 and the SRD grant payment for November 2024 will be R370.
Where To Collect Sassa Grant Payments
Sassa beneficiaries can choose to have their Sassa grant be paid directly to their bank account.
Sassa Grant beneficiaries can also collect their Sassa social grants at several payment points. These payment points include ATMs and retail stores such as Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite and Boxer stores.
Sassa has said that there is no need to rush to withdraw the Sassa money on the first day because once the money is paid, it will stay in your bank account.
