The University of South Africa (Unisa), the country's leading distance learning institution, is preparing to celebrate its graduating class of 2024. Over the next two months, Unisa will hold graduation ceremonies across the country, awarding degrees to nearly 40,000 graduates and recognising the achievements of twelve distinguished individuals with honorary doctorates.
Flexible Learning for a Diverse Student Body
Unisa utilises Open Distance e-Learning (ODeL), a unique approach that allows students to pursue their education from anywhere. This flexibility has propelled Unisa to become South Africa's largest university, catering to a geographically dispersed student body. By removing the need for physical attendance, Unisa makes quality education accessible to working professionals, stay-at-home parents, and individuals living in remote areas.
Graduation Ceremonies Across Major Cities
To accommodate its widespread student base, Unisa will host graduation ceremonies in Pretoria, Mbombela, Polokwane, East London, Durban, and Cape Town. The ceremonies will be held at various venues throughout these cities, offering graduates and their families the opportunity to celebrate this momentous occasion in their local communities.
