The University of South Africa (Unisa) has extended its registration period for Semester 2, providing additional time for prospective students to enroll at the country's largest university. Registration for undergraduate and honours degree programs opened in June, allowing those with placement offers to register.

The new deadline for Unisa semester 2 registration of all undergraduate qualifications, honours degrees, and postgraduate diplomas with semester modules is now Monday, 29 July 2024. This extension leaves students with less than a week to finalize their registration.

Consequently, the deadline for the initial minimum payment for semester 2 modules has been extended to Wednesday, 31 July 2024.

Unisa employs an Open Distance e-Learning (ODeL) approach, enabling students to study remotely without attending in-person classes. The institution has also moved its examinations online, further enhancing its flexibility. This model has attracted a diverse student body, accommodating various schedules and work commitments.
