The University of South Africa (Unisa) has opened applications for the 2023 academic year. Students will have just over one month to complete and submit applications to study at the university.

Undergraduate qualifications include all higher certificates, advanced certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas and degrees. It will also include honours degrees and postgraduate diplomas.

Applications for postgraduate degrees will open on 11 September 2022 and will close around two months later on 14 November 2022. This includes masters degrees and doctoral degrees.

Unisa said all applications for admission must be submitted during the prescribed application period. Students can apply for a maximum of two qualifications. If your application is successful, you may accept or decline Unisa’s offer. You can only accept one offer.

First-time applicants will be required to complete Unisa’s First-Year Experience MOOC (massive open online course) before being able to accept the offer sent to you.

If you choose to accept Unisa’s offer, you must register for the period for which you were approved for. If you don’t register for the relevant semester, you will need to reapply for admission during the next application period.

Unisa added that applicants who plan to enrol for classes at a Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college under the Unisa-TVET agreement can choose to apply via the relevant TVET college or online through Unisa.
