Sassa SRD Grant Collection Options
You have two convenient ways to receive your Sassa SRD grant:
- Direct Bank Deposit: Have the grant directly deposited into your bank account.
- Supermarket Collection: Visit a participating supermarket to collect cash.
- Pick n Pay
- Boxer
- Checkers
- USave
- OK
- Spar
Please note that it may take two to three business days for your grant to reflect in your bank account.
SRD Grant Eligibility
Only approved SRD grant applicants will receive payments. Sassa conducts thorough verification checks to ensure eligibility.
Verification Process
When applying, you'll need to provide your ID number, name, and surname. This information is cross-referenced with various government databases, including:
- Department of Home Affairs (residency status)
- South African Revenue Services (SARS)
- Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF)
- National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS)
Additionally, your ID number and mobile number undergo a fraud risk assessment.
Future of the SRD Grant
The SRD Grant is a lifeline for millions of South Africans. The government has allocated R33.6 billion for the program until March 2025. However, there's a possibility of extension up to March 2027.
August SRD Grant Amount
SRD grant beneficiaries will receive R370 per month, following a R20 increase in April.
