On Sunday President Cyril Ramaphosa revealed that more than 7 million adults have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. This represents a quarter of South Africa’s adult population.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has urged residents of South Africa to get vaccinated against Covid-19. He believes that if enough adults get vaccinated, the country can avoid a large wave of infections and further lockdowns.

 The Department of Basic Education and the Department of Social Development told the Joint Portfolio Committee of both departments that the shift function of Early Childhood Development (ECD) will be implemented on 1 April 2022. This follows the announcement made by the president Cyril Ramaphosa in the 2019 State Of the Nation Address that the function would migrate from the Department of Social Development to its Education counterpart.

Hendrick Makaneta from the Foundation for Education and Social Justice, has commended President Cyril Ramaphosa for taking a decision on pit toilets. Makaneta believes that by setting a deadline, the government shows political will to eradicate the issue of pit toilets.

Cyril Ramaphosa's government is being roundly criticised for not acting fast enough to secure vaccine supplies to protect health workers and other vulnerable groups from Covid-19.



Last night the President had a sit down with the nation and proceeded to tell all South Africans that the country would enter lockdown Level 3. Which means stricter regulations and protocols to follow in an effort to decrease the country's COVID-19 cases.

President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the country is being moved to adjusted level 3 of lockdown with immediate effect from midnight tonight. New regulations will be put in place as well.
