A recent survey by Afrobarometer found that people believe that the South African economy is in a worse position than it was one year ago. Less than half of these people expect the situation to improve.

The unemployment stats released by Statistic South Africa paints a grim picture. More than 2 million people have lost their jobs due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The situation faced by South Africans is made worse by the rising cost of living, increasing inflation rate and rising petrol prices.


The Progressive Youth Alliance (PYA) has come together to call for change to be made in government leadership.


President Cyril Ramaphosa believes that if the country was to recovery its economy and society after the current pandemic, then every person in the country should benefit and be included.

Eskom has had its ups and downs as the national supplier of electricity. The power utility has even managed to rake up a debt of R488 billion and plans are in motion to save it.
