Matric results are out and you might be wanting to get your exam scripts re-marked or rechecked. You can do that by registering!

Anxious person

The release of matric results is typically a high stakes time for many students and their parents, but pandemic disruptions throughout 2020 are adding extra angst. This week, the anticipation will be over, but getting these final school marks in black and white can spiral some young South Africans, and their families, into despair and crisis.

The marking of matric results has been going well for the Department of Basic Education. The Department held a live briefing to give updates about the process that was initially scheduled to end on 22 January 2021.

More than 1000 teachers have quit marking, nationwide. There has been some concern about the Gauteng Department of Education, as the province that has lost the most exam markers.

You can now register for the 2021 National Senior Certificate if you are an adult who qualifies to write the matric exam.

The marking of matric exam papers kicked off on Monday. More than 4 million scripts will be marked before 22 January 2021.

SABC Education has partnered with the Department of Basic Education to launch a Matric Results service. Candidates will be able to access their results across various platforms.

Now that matric exams are out of the way, teachers have started marking papers written by more than 1 million candidates this year. Results are set to be released on 23 February 2021.
