Around 890 000 Grade 12 learners will be participating in the upcoming National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations.

The Department of Basic Education (DBE) has announced that the registration for the 2022 Senior Certificate (SC) exams are now open.

On 27 October 2021, the matric class will sit down to write their English paper 1 exam. The matrics will be asked to answer the exact same question paper, even though many students have not had the same learning opportunities.

Grade 12 students around South Africa will begin their matric exams earlier than expected. This was after select exams were moved to accommodate the upcoming 2021 local government elections.

Last month it was announced that the local government elections will be held on 1 November 2021. This has forced the Department of Basic Education (DBE) to move exams original scheduled to be written on 1 and 2 November 2021.
