The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) has started processing Covid-19 TERS applications. This comes after the President announced an extension for the relief scheme. The applications being processed first are for the period of 16 October to 31 December 2020. The second period of applications will be from 1 January to 15 March 2021. |

Scientists have made new findings about the Covid-19 variant. Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize said these new findings are good news. During a media briefing, the Minister revealed that people who have contracted the 501Y.V2 variant are immune from being reinfected. |

The Department of Home Affairs will be bringing back some services that were temporarily suspended in January 2021. Minister of Home Affairs, Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, announced these services would come back from Thursday 4 March 2021. This decision comes after President Cyril Ramaphosa moved the country to lockdown level 1. |
