Applications for the Temporary Employee/Employer Relief Scheme (TERS) will reopen in March. This comes after the President announced that the relief scheme would be extended for sectors affected by the Covid-19 lockdown. 

President Cyril Ramaphosa and Health Minister Zweli Mkhize were among the first to receive the Johnson&Johnson vaccine. 

The first 80 000 doses of the Johnson&Johnson vaccine has officially arrived in South Africa. The vaccine landed at OR Tambo International Airport on Tuesday evening.

Some changes have been made to the government's vaccine rollout plan. This follows the suspension of the AstraZeneca vaccine rollout. 

Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize has confirmed that government is considering swapping the AstraZeneca vaccine with other countries. 

The National Minimum wage will increase from 1 March 2021. The Minister of Employment and Labour, Thulas Nxesi announced that the increase would be by 93 cents. 

The Western Cape is gearing up to roll out the Covid-19 vaccines. The province is expected to receive 35 000 vaccine doses from the first shipment sent to South Africa. 

The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) has launched a new online system which will make applying for a UIF compliance certificate easier.

The first batch of Covid-19 vaccines landed in the country on Monday afternoon. Since then, President Cyril Ramaphosa has given an address to the nation explaining how the vaccine rollout will work.
