Registered assessors are licensed to practise as assessors for specified unit standards and/or qualifications, according to the conditions prescribed for those unit standards and qualifications by the relevant quality assurance body.
Educators and trainers undertake training to get the generic assessor unit standard, ‘Conduct outcomes-based assessment’ (115753).
This unit standard is endorsed by the ETDP SETA, which issues statements of achievement. The practitioners will then register with the relevant SETA to become an assessor in their area of expertise.
Assessors operate at the learning site, and have their assessment moderated by internal moderators and external verifiers.
This generic assessor unit standard is for those who assess people for their achievement of learning outcomes in terms of specified criteria using pre-designed assessment instruments.
The outcomes and criteria may be defined in a range of documents including but not limited to unit standards, exit level outcomes, assessment standards, curriculum statements and qualifications.
On Completion delegates will be able to:
• Demonstrate understanding of outcomes-based assessment
• Prepare for assessments
• Conduct assessments
• Provide feedback on assessments
• Review assessments
Completion of Portfolio of Evidence at end of the 4 day course, ETDP SETA registration included.
