PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD
This unit standard will enable learners to demonstrate an understanding of retail products and services in the salon environment and to provide clients with the service required.
A person credited with this unit standard is able to:
Describe the purposes and methods of retailing in the salon environment.
Identify sales opportunities.
Present and demonstrate products and services to prospective customers.
Create a product display.

It is assumed that a learner will be competent in:
Communication at NQF Level 2.

Methods of selling products and services to clients include but are not limited to product and service descriptions and product demonstrations.
Methods of promoting sales include but are not limited to displays, advertising, discounts, customer satisfaction and word of mouth.
