Offering you an overview of South African public sector procurement, the Construction Procurement course places a special focus and emphasis on procurement for construction and engineering projects. The course also provides you with valuable skills with regards to planning, implementation and management of construction and engineering projects and tenders in accordance with the requirements of the Construction Industry Development Board Act (CIDB Act 38 of 2000).
You will be taken through legislation and policies governing and impacting on construction procurement in South Africa. The course also enables you to understand the various procurement strategies and principles, based on local and international perspectives. Training is delivered in such a manner that you will be able to prepare procurement documents in accordance with the CIDB Standard for Uniformity in construction procurement documentation, including preparing tender data (including tender adverts, tender data and returnable schedules) and contract data (including forms of offer and acceptance, pricing instructions, schedule of activities and also preparation of specifications). The course also teaches you to solicit tender offers, evaluate and adjudicate tender offers in accordance with the CIDB Register of Contractors (RoC) and the Register of Projects (RoP).
