Commercial and court-aligned mediation training 2021

[email protected], UCT Faculty of Law, and Mediation in Motion Training Pty Ltd (MiM) are pleased to present a series of five-day online training courses for professionals who aspire to become mediators and use mediation to resolve disputes in their preferred areas of practice.

It also aims to improve your general and inter-cultural communication and negotiation skills. You will learn to use mediation skills more effectively in your profession, business, or workplace. The Department of Justice’s court-aligned mediation programme will form part of your learning experience.

DATES: 15 to 19 March OR 2 to 6 August OR 15 to 19 November 2021

NUMBER OF HOURS: Forty hours, over five days

FEE: R16,500 per delegate. The fee includes any course materials. An early bird discount is available. 

PRESENTERS:

  • Adv. Alan Nelson SC has practiced as an advocate for 40 years and is an aggressive trial lawyer.
  • Oscar Siwali has worked with a range of organisations in the fields of conflict transformation, human rights, and election monitoring and observation in the African continent for the past twenty years.
  • Professor Johan Walters is a retired orthopaedic surgeon and former head of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UCT.
  • Daniel Nelson is a highly trained and experienced information technology specialist with international experience.
