The following courses fall under the Construction Education Training Authority and the accredited unit standard for each type of equipment/machine -
Training of construction machine operators is legally required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Construction regulations. A Certificate of Competency must be issued for the specific machine operated.
Our methodology is training on site on the machines/equipment operators are using.
The knowledge/theory component deals with pre-operating inspection, controls, gauges and warning lights, safety on site, PPE, pre-start and shut-down inspections and procedures and operational efficiency on the machines. The learning material can be customised to include company operational and safety requirements.
Recertification and refresher training is typically a one day intervention. Full training for learners who can operate but do not have a certificate is two days. Novice operators who have no previous experience require approximately 10 days of training, and must be able to operate safely, before they can be certificated.
We schedule the training to achieve the most cost-effective and productive programme.
